MPlan (Urban Planning) is an advanced programme offered by School of Architecture and Planning. This program focuses on the development of an individual in the area of Urban planning and development. As we all know India with 30 percent urban population makes up second largest urban system in the world. By the year 2025 it is assumed that 50 presents of our population shall be urbane. History is a witness that urbanization has led to problems and issues like transportation, poverty, unemployment, unauthorized housing colonies, slums and squatter settlements. The severity of these issues is not understood since there is a gap on the emphasis on urban planning issues at academic levels. Therefore, P P Savani University`s Scholl of Architecture department carefully thought and has launched this course for individuals who think who can make a difference in the society.
These Post-Graduates after successfully completion of their course shall be competent to serve various Government and Non-Government Organizations dealing with urban planning and development. They shall also be efficient as well as effective in personal services to government and Non-Government Organizations, Private or Corporate sectors and handling various urban development projects and programmes viz; Functionaries and elected representatives of Municipal Councils, Corporations, Municipal and Nagar Panchayats; Architects, City and Town Planners (Bachelors and Masters in Architecture, Planning and Related Disciplines); Civil Engineers, Corporate Real Estate Professionals; Employees of the Autonomous Institutions /NGOs, Private or Corporate sectors working in various urban development sectors; Programme Officers, Project Officers, Research Investigators, and Research Assistants dealing with urban development in various International and National Organizations.
