School of Engineering, P P Savani University organized an industrial visit for 2nd-year Chemical Engineering students at Goodrej Industries, Valia on September 26, 2019. There were 61 students who interacted with MD. Jeel Bhatt, HR Dept., Ms. Shweta, Executive production in charge, Mr. Abhiraj Mahida, plant in charge and Mr. S B Pandey, manager. Students got the exposure to learn sulfonation process, various industrial processes and Spray dryer in detail.We are thankful to Mr. Pandey for allowing us for the visit.
School of Engineering, P P Savani University organised Expert talk on “process related Safety in Chemical Industries” under the banner of IIChE student chapter on 18th september, 2019. The expert of the session was Mr. D K Joshi, VP, Operations, Meghmani Organics Limited, Ankleshwar. The session started with basic safety techniques in the industry. Further the talk continued with various topics like Hazard, risk management, fire triangle, reactor safety, work permit, MSDS, unit processes and so on. The student also interacted with the expert on each and every point.
School of Engineering feels extremely proud to share that students of SoE have given a spectacular performance at the university level sports tournament. University sports committee organized various seven sports competitions where SoE boys became champion in volleyball, chess, table tennis, tug of war, cricket, football tournament, and runner up in kabbadi tournament whereas SoE girls secured winner position in cricket tournament & runner up position in chess, tug of war and volleyball tournament. Kudos to all the students.
School of Engineering students became champion of KalaGoonj 2K20 by securing winning and runner up positions in eighteen events out of twenty-nine events. Participants won winner trophy in twelve events and runners up trophy in six events. It is the result of sheer hard work, dedication, and teamwork. Kudos to the students' efforts.
Students of 6th Semester Mechanical Engineering from School of Engineering visited Auto Expo 2020 at Delhi and Defence expo 2020 at Lucknow during February 6-10, 2020. During their visit, they got a chance to interact with auto experts about recent and upcoming trends in the automobile industry. Students Also, they have seen a classical as well as new advanced weapons which are helpful for the country.

A total of 506 participants benefited from this lecture. The topics discussed were safety management, operation management, Manpower management, the role of fresh chemical engineers, the sustainability of chemical engineers towards future scope. Participants from all over India like Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, etc. were involved along with 5 international participants.
P P Savani School of Engineering hosted a four days lecture series on "Industrial Safety" for the chemical engineering students from April 23-26, 2020. The expert of the session was Mr. Snehal Tralsawala, CEO, Prism Consultant & Treasurer, IIChE, Ankleshwar Regional Center. A total of 95 participants benefited from this lecture series. The topics like fire & Explosion, Accident & Incident causes, Hazard & Risk identification, and Personal Protective equipment were discussed.
School of Engineering feels immense pleasure to share that 4 teams from Computer Engineering 6th semester students participated in the Spare AR program by Facebook School of Innovative and have been shortlisted in the Top 250 teams(2 Students Per Team) out of 10,000 applications throughout the nation.
Scholarship: Facebook’s School of Innovation announced 500 National Scholarship in Augmented Reality (AR) for students this year. 250 teams (2 students per team) selected from a nationwide pool will be trained by industry experts over 12 weeks through the School of Innovation.

The seminar covered topics such as understanding of local energy scenario of conventional and non-conventional energy sources, scope for Sustainable development, Estimation of Payback period and so on. The seminar was graced by the experts Dr. Purnanand V Bhale, Associate Professor, SVNIT Surat and Mr. Asim Kumar Joshi, Senior Scientist, Sardar Patel Renewable Research Institute (SPRERI). Participants across the nation participated in the seminar to avail the treasure of knowledge delivered in the seminar.

Mr. Sunil I Thakar, Ex. General Manager (GM) & Chairman, Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) - Ankleshwar Regional Center, was The expert of the session . A total of 610 registration from all over the country was reported and nearly 259 participants benefited from this session.
Mr. Thakar talked on the importance of the professional career of the fresh chemical engineer in the industry, the scope of chemical engineers post COVID-19, the future skill required by Industry, and the importance of Chemical Engineers in the financial growth of the country.

Dr. Parghi talked about sustainability in infrastructure, need of Retrofitting using FRC, flexural strength examples including real field problem, and solution.

Mr. Shah gave detailed information about how to make an effective LinkedIn Profile to attract employers and increase job opportunities. A total of 170 students benefited from the session. P P Savani School of Engineering began IIChE PPSU Students Chapter on August 30, 2019, under the leadership of Dr. Niraj Shah, Dean, SoE, and coordinated by Ms. Sofia Ahmed. To mark this day and celebrate the one-year inception, IIChE PPSU Students' Chapter organized a fun event 'IChem-Mystique' for the Students of Chemical Engineering Department on August 30, 2020. The event was a nontechnical treasure hunt with hints of chemicals used in everyday life. A total of 23 teams and 58 students participated in this event. The event was judged by Dr. Deepak Panwar and coordinated by Ms. Sofia Ahmed and IIChE team members. We congratulate the winners of the event Shivam Patel and Sandeep Nath from 5th-semester Chemical Engineering who managed to find all the clues on time.

Dr. Gahlit talked about recent trends in urban transportation, movement of transportation, and technology used for this.

Prof. Neeraj Atray, Senior Principal Scientist & Head, Bio Esterification Area, Biofuel Division, CSIR- Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun was the expert of the session.
Dr. Atray talked on scopes of Biofuel in the form of Biomass resources available and utilization. He also discussed on Biofuel Modelling, Energy generation from Biomass, Biofuel Different routes, National Biofuel Policy-2018, Biodiesel production, and Non-edible oil utilization.
A total of 332 participants from various institutes and industries benefited from the session and gave positive feedback after the session.
