e-Yantra Lab@PPSU

This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) through the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), is aimed at fostering cutting-edge education in Embedded Systems and Robotics. This lab marks a significant step towards advancing technology education at P P Savani University and nurturing future engineers and innovators in the field of robotics.

There are four main functions under e-yantra program:

  • e-Yantra Robotics Competition (eYRC): which is a unique annual competition for undergraduate students in science and engineering. Selected teams are given a robotic kit, complete with accessories and video tutorials to help them learn basic concepts in embedded systems and programming.
  • e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI): It is a college level program under which colleges are encouraged to setup robotics labs. Our e-yantra lab is also established under this initiative and PPSU is first college in South Gujarat in which e-yantra lab is established.
  • e-Yantra Symposium(eYS): It is an annual event at IIT-Bombay to bring together colleges which have set up robotics labs through the e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI).
  • e-Yantra Resource Development Center (eYRDC): is a portal designed exclusively for eLSI colleges through which they share resources for teachers to help them use their e-Yantra labs in an effective manner.

PPSU has setup e-yantra embedded systems and robotics lab in August, 2024 with the support of e -yantra, IIT Bombay. This laboratory will prove helpful to students of all branches who want to learn basics of robotics and its programming and convert their practical knowledge into innovative ideas and products.

Objectives of the Lab:

  • To spread awareness regarding robotics among the students and to create a competitive industry required robotics skill sets in them.
  • To support and guide students in various aspects related to robotics and embedded; in particular, mechanical design and automation.

AI For Youth Lab@PPSU

The AI for Youth Lab at PPSU is designed to empower students with essential skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and promote a culture of innovation and digital transformation. This lab will play a pivotal role in preparing the next generation of students for the AI-driven future, fostering critical thinking, and enhancing employability.

Objective :

  • AI Awareness and Literacy: Introduce students to the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and robotics.
  • Hands-on Learning: Provide students with practical experience in designing, developing, and deploying AI-based solutions through real-world projects and experiments in the lab.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Enhance students' critical thinking and problem-solving abilities by encouraging them to apply AI technologies to address real-world challenges in various domains like healthcare, education, agriculture, etc.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Foster creativity and innovation by enabling students to explore AI-driven technologies and tools, promoting the development of novel solutions.
  • Ethical Understanding of AI: Promote awareness of the ethical implications of AI, including privacy, fairness, transparency, and the social impact of AI technologies.
  • Career Readiness in AI: Prepare students for future careers in the AI industry by equipping them with the necessary technical skills, including programming, data analysis, and model building.
  • Collaborative Learning: Encourage teamwork and collaboration through group projects where students can share their ideas and learn from each other while working on AI-based projects.
  • Interdisciplinary Approach: Promote an interdisciplinary understanding of AI by combining knowledge from computer science, data science, mathematics, and other related fields.
